The Next Island Meetup (NIM) was a huge success at the end of 2023/ 2024. I want to personally thank all those who work for Next Island who helped with making this idea a reality with the merch that was sent to the Devs that helped me even with the mass of questions I asked.
The event
The event will consist of three days’ worth of Streaming and Competitions with the players present and online which will be in a relaxed environment. The specifics of the event are as follows:
Event time and date: 27th – 29th September 2025, 12pm-10pm for all 3 days
Location – Magic Mayhem Hobbies- 49 - 51 St Leonards Rd, Bexhill-on-Sea TN40 1JA.
The owners of the store were amazing hosts and enjoyed every second of it. They were very enthusiastic on when the next event was going to occur.
They are willing to allow us to book out an adequately sized room for the duration of the event, this will be a different room from the previous event as this new room would be suitable for up to 20 people. The location itself will have washroom facilities, food both hot and cold, drink and confectionary items. The owner is fully licensed to cook and serve food and drink on the premise with a 5-star health and safety report. Alcohol is not permitted on site.
The room that we have booked out is private and the door can be closed so that people who enter the shop cannot simply walk into the room at any given time. This is because of the officials there as well as keeping within TOS of Twitch when streaming.
Accommodation
Accommodation will NOT be provided to people that attend the event. However, there are many hotels and Bed and Breakfasts around the immediate area. Checking availability in early September show that there are plenty of spaces left in many of the hotels around the area.
Suggestion: Dunselma Guest House 25 Marina, Bexhill-on-Sea TN40 1BP. Last event all of the attendees stayed in this guest house and no one complained about the accommodation. The prices were deemed very fair for the time of year. It was within walking distance to the event.
I would recommend members conversing with each other to share rooms to help keep costs as low as possible. Many of the suggested areas have rooms with large double beds or two single beds in a room.
Airport pickups
Airport Pickups are available from all London airports. This includes: Gatwick, Heathrow, Luton, Stansted. There will be a small additional charge of £20 per person to get them to and from the airport.
Admission
Admission to join the event is £80pp. This covers the members getting into the building as well as entering into any events that happen during the two days.
Event Days breakdown
27th September – This day will have myself streaming and hosting. Assuming there are more people attending this time round we have given a slightly longer greeting time at the start.
Proposed schedule
12pm – 3pm: This will be a sweat event where we will do a large sweat buy over the course of the 4 hours. This will not be limited to in game but also on stream as well where an avatar can win multiple times. This will be located in the Amphitheatre. The theme for this year is Ancient Greece. We have already sweated a Gorgon dry and hoping the Dev’s could become Zeus for us to sweat dry.
During this time, we will have a scheduled warp picking up people from all planets and bringing them to Next Island at 11:30am MA time. We will be utilizing the SF28, SF6 and SF31
4pm – 5pm: This will be the allocated time for the Highest Single Loot event. This will be located in the Sparta Training Grounds like last time but with some alterations made the approach of this event. More details are given in this letter later on.
5:30pm – 8:30pm: This will be the final event of the day. A Dev spawn event located in Ancient Greece. The location is Ephesus.
28th September – During this day, Miss Watson will be streaming the entire day again.
Proposed schedule
11am – 3pm: This will be a sweat event where giveaways will occur both in game and on stream. Again, Devs will hopefully be Zeus.
3:30pm – 4:30pm: A Pointless bumper car race will take place this time at carnival island on the heart race track. Prizes will be awarded for the top 5 places. Rewards will be finalized in the later months.
5:30pm – 8:30pm: A sponsored group hunt for the people present to hunt mobs on Ancient Greece. Others outside of the event are more than welcome to join but they much bring their own weapons and ammo.
29th September – This day will be a quiet day compared to the others. Their will be no public stream or event, this is a day where the players present can finish up the achievement hunter quests either solo or in a team.
Changes
I know that there were many things that could have improved for the next event. Any changes that you would wish for us to address we will happily do so. This event is to help show the Entropia community that this is a planet to come to and enjoy the game to the fullest. I have added below, changes that we have addressed and will carry out going forward.
Different time for the event- Like last year we are still trying to find the best time for the event to occur. October saw a much better turn out for in game players and in person players. It was suggested last year to try September due to flight prices being cheaper.
Achievement hunter event- The achievement hunter event last year was a huge success and we have decided to make that a staple of NIM for the foreseeable future. This year the achievements will be mainly based around Ancient Greece Mobs within some achievements on NI mobs.
Timing and advertising- It was noted that the release of the event times for the days was a little late. To combat this, we have decided to add a rough schedule of time included in this letter and will upload onto the Next Island Forum at the same time of the advertisement to fill the spaces.
Warps – Last year we had a much better turn out for the warps and we have decided to add a set time months before the event and warps begin to give people plenty of time to plan for NIM.
Layout- We were able to get enough money saved to get a brand-new camera for the event last year. This year we are now hoping to raise enough money for a new microphone to help pick up everyone present
As the event draws near, I am sure that small changes will occur from last time that haven’t been fully explored until then.
